Kathrin Yvonne Bigler, co-artistic director

Co-Artistic Director, Director, Performance Artist, Dance Dramaturge, Writer, Workshop Facilitator

Kathrin is co-artistic director of Bottlefed and works internationally as a director, performance artist, dance dramaturge, writer and workshop facilitator. Her areas of practice spread over multi-disciplinary performance, dance, installation, free improvisation, film and community arts/cultural intervention.

Kathrin’s work is rooted in a minimalist aesthetic, in the reduced rather than in the sumptuous. Though the concepts explored in her practice are often concrete and everyday – these themes are looked at through the interface of bodies, sound, space, visual and performing arts. Both process and result are multidisciplinary by nature and made tangible in a sensual way in the first place.

In 2000, Kathrin moved away from Bern/Switzerland to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. In 2003 she left Liverpool for London, where she lived, worked and traveled from for 8 years. Since autumn 2011 her main base is in Bern.
