Co-Artistic Director, Director, Dance Dramaturge, Writer, Workshop Facilitator

Kathrin is one of Bottlefed’s artistic directors. She works as a director, dance dramaturge, writer and workshop facilitator in the areas of multi-disciplinary performance, installation, improvisation, dance theatre, film and community arts/cultural intervention. From 2000-2010 she was based in Liverpool and London, since 2011 in Bern and London.

In 2003 Kathrin gained a first class honours degree in Performing Arts (Community Arts Drama) at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Since then she has worked all over the UK, in New York, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Italy and Belgium.

Workshops

Kathrin has facilitated workshops and performance projects for children, young people and adults in diverse communities and contexts such as schools, universities, theatres and prisons. Her work covers the areas of creative writing, physical theatre, improvisation, storytelling and directing. She has worked as a devisor/director and workshop facilitator for Eastside Educational Trust (London), Creative Partnerships (UK), Company of Angels (UK), Schaubühne Berlin (DE), Rumbalante (CH), Wise Moves Ltd (UK), Theatre Royal Bath (UK), P.A.T.H. (UK), Amabadelo (Liverpool) and Merseyside Young People’s Theatre (Liverpool). Additionally to that, Kathrin ran the Drama Workhouse youth theatre (London) for five years and co-directed ‘Creative Skills 4 Life’, an OCN accredited performance project for vulnerable adults run by the Drama Workhouse and St Giles Trust in Camberwell. She has run the same course at the juvenile unit at HMP Downview and HMP Hunterscombe in 07/08. Course tutor for Escape Artists (London), designing and delivering two OCN accredited programs: Arts Practitioners: Working with Vulnerable Groups in the Criminal Justice System and An introduction to working with the Arts in the CJS to artists, social workers and project managers.

She is currently running young people’s projects at Schlachthaus Theater Bern and Tuchlaube Aarau, Switzerland.

She was associate lecturer for London University of the Arts (Creativity Matters) and works as a guest lecturer for Education at the Institute of Music and Theatre Management at Ludwig Maximilians-Universität München.
