Ongoing training, experimentation and improvisation are at the core of our approach to creating high quality work with an ensemble of committed artists. We are constantly trying out new ideas to improvise with or devise from. To keep exploring the genre of 'physical theatre' and what it means for us is as important as working towards a performance. Our training sessions are a creative platform to i.e. work with live musicians, try out new writing, develop exercises and play with different stimuli.

For our performances we often draw our inspiration from the visual arts: Stimuli used for past Bottlefed productions include Afro Cuban Art, the work of Camille Claudel, Man Ray and Jan Saudek, to name but a few. It can be the socio-political context of an artwork that we're interested in, the themes extracted from a picture, a text based on the art work or the artist that forms the basis for developing a story.

With our productions we aim to widen our audience's perception of what physical theatre/dance theatre can be and make experimental work more accessible.
